DAMN THIS GUY! IF MY TAXES GO UP! DAMN ALL WHO VOTED FOR HIM! |
don't worry about taxes... that is, unless you make more than $200k/year.

So basically you are saying the same as others...why try to earn more money? Why should people be punished for trying to work harder and earn more money? It's BS to me... |
not really, but if you wanna see it that way then sure.
if you make more money, you likely have more opportunity to write stuff off. plus, most people in the working majority don't make anything close to $200k... so this whole thing isn't even a factor. this may sound like i'm a jerk, but i really don't care so much about laws that don't apply to me. for instance, let's say they're gonna make a law to execute dogs who takes dumps on public property. sure, that's a little extreme.... but would i care? i may from the perspective of how that may be cruel to dogs, but in the grand scheme of things, we all have to think about NUMBER ONE... yourself. because i don't have a dog, i really don't care as much whether a law like that passes. likewise, when people get taxed a little more when they make over $200k/year, it's not so much a factor for me. does it prevent me from wanting to make more? absolutely not. the tax system is made so that even if you're taxed more, you can't go backwards. the sign of making more money is getting taxed more... that's just the nature of the beast. we still have one of the fairest and lowest tax systems in the world, however, i will admit that it may also the most complicated and confusing system in the world. |
I am thinking of myself! I'm thinking I want to make over $250K a year! What if my business takes off...I gotta setup another corp and another corp just to split up the profits between multiple companies to avoid taxes
like i kinda implied... if you make more money, there's more ways to get around it. people who make less don't really have that luxury.
The only way for our country to survive is to tax the poor!
why make your money taxing the poor? they don't make much AND they pay less taxes (in terms of percentage). the REALITY is that our country survives on taxing the middle class.... that's where the bulk of the money is.... unfortunately.
because we haven't tried taxing the poor! that is why...if they are taxed it is quite possible they may try to earn a living!
people that are "poor" for the most part DO make a living. they just don't make as much money. take econ 101 and relearn your econ. there's a reason everyone can't make a million bucks a year.
Yes...but we haven't tried taxing the poor yet! It's a novel concept that we should try! They don't need to make 1 Million a year...but if they even earn 25% more they should be happy...
I'm beginning to like the idea more! Why punish people for earning more money and paying more taxes...why not punish those who don't make enough to pay taxes to teach them a lesson!
the answer is simple, just because you work harder or have an incentive to work harder, it doesn't mean that you're gonna make more money.
in the "middle class" brackets, people tend to have more deductions than in the lower brackets. that being said, in terms of percentages, it's very possible that the middle class and "rich" people pay less per dollar than the "poor" people. (of course, i think that's why they invented the AMT... to buffer that a little since it's not fair to the "poor"). |
all these democrats not paying their taxes... that's why they want to increase them... 'cause they don't pay 'em anyway... either that or the tax code is so damn confusing even the guy who oversees the irs (charlie rangel) doesn't know what he's doing...
but yeah, congrats to obama... our first half white president! |
