although that may be true... what ends up happening on these sites is that you do it for the hell of it and find that a kazillion of your friends are on it. that is, if you have friends. hehe

LOL.... I got friends. It doesn't mean I MUST be on social networking site too.
BTW, I've known people who didn't get a job offer because the company she's applying to found out all sorts of information on her myspace account. So when you are on these site... you gotta think what kind of friends you want to associated with. |

haha... yeah... my assumption is that everyone has friends... but friends that are on mysapce and/or those kinda sites is another story.
and the people who don't get jobs because of myspace are probably just telling you that as an excuse. there's not an HR department in corporate america that would tell you that you didn't get a job because of a myspace account. personally, i think it's fair game to ask about it in an interview, but even that, i wonder how legal it would be. however, what information you put onto these kinda website is your doing. i personally think that people generally put WAY too much information about themselves on those things. i was just told a story where my friend's friend found out that his daughter was drinking and smoking in college. i know it's not a big deal since their kid's an adult and they can do what they please... but i think that dude was a little disappointed. as for what friends you associate with with... yes, you should be choosy. but most people i know... especially on facebook, tend to only accept friends of people they actually know from the past. it's a little different from myspace where everyone generally randomly accepted friendship with every import car model that asked to be their friend (or vice versa). ![]()
