Now I don't care which side of the issue you are on. But if a person is holding a bazooka and about to fire in the middle of the street without cover is either... 1. Extremely Brave or 2. Extremely stupid I would think the latter would be more true and he/she should remove from our gene pool. Last edited by Allizard : 07-28-2004 at 06:01 PM. Reason: update Title... |

Interesting side note:
That's a Spanish Broadcaster from Spain. The commentator has a clear and unmistakable Castillian spanish accent. Note the whistle-like S's (se ha convertido...), the gutteral 'J's' (imagen) and the 'th' sound on soft C words (milicia = [milithia]). He said that "death has become a daily image there, this one took place in a Bagdad suberb controlled by the militias of the radical cleric Al..." then that's the end of the clip. Just thought I'd share my knowledge with ya. |

i can't tell exactly what happened. did the guy prepare to shoot the bazooka in the middle of the street and got shot? kind looks like a tracer bullet bounced off the ground and hit him, then a second shot hit him again.

There were two rounds of rapid fire. First round knock him off balance and less than a second next round took him out completely. I can tell the same person who shot him just squeeze the tirgger twice.
It's just the thought of firing a bazooka in the middle of a street with no cover just stuns me. He's a sitting duck. |

how can you tell it was the same shooter? the video from that link doesn't show the shooter. and if you look closely, i think there was a third shot that missed.

I'd rather be like our president and send kids over there for no legitimate reason while I go to my ranch every other weekend.

The president send the troops in because he was informed there is a probable stock pile of WMD. I'm not defending about the result because of mis-lead, mis-information, bad intellegent. But if you were a president and you receive a report there is threat. Will you make the first strike and avoid another 9/11?? I'm sick and tired of the rhetoric about no legitmate reason. The whole fucking congress said there are WMD and Saddam needs to be removed!!!! ![]() |

well... it was, at that time, somewhat unlikely that another 9/11-type of incident would happen. although too late, wekinda learned our lesson too late. so, in my opinion, there was no emminent danger from iraq... WMD or not.

Ultimately he is responsible for information that is provided to him and whether or not this is credible enough to start a war. I can't prove anything because I'm not a top-level CIA officer, but my belief is that the CIA was pressured into making their decisions based on 'assumptions' so that the Bush administration would have a 'legitimate' reason to convince Americans that a war was warranted. Based on Saddam's history, they probably figured the odds were in their favor. Also, Congress probably read the same report explaining the Iraq threat that Bush used as support for his decision, so Congress supporting the war is irrelevant. You think they would be willing to question what Bush had already thrown out to the American people about WMD and take the chance that he was right? I admit, when the war first started, I was Gung Ho about ousting Saddam and finding WMD. In hindsight, we were duped and I am pissed off about it. Yes, Saddam probably should have been removed from power, but does that call for 'Shock and Awe'? Does the fact that we've removed Saddam and his regime from power warrant all the chaos and death that the coalition forces are suffering? If you had an 18 year-old that was sent over there and had to give me an explanation as to what he's fighting for right now, what is it? What about you? Are you willing to go to Iraq and fight, if so, why?

That almost sounds like a script from Michael Moore's movie.
He did the same thing with O'Riley interview. Will I send my kids? I can't honestly say since I don't have kids. But will I go myself? the Answer is absolute yes I would. Even if I've found out there is mis-information. With or without WMD doesn't change the fact that Saddam needs to be removed... along with a dozen terrorist states in other countries. |

Haven't seen Moore's movie yet, but plan to. And yes, Moore did ask O'Reilly the war question, because it's legit. Most people who are slamming those opposing the war will not be truthful about their answer to go and fight.
Unless your already a reserve or active, I honestly don't believe anyone on this board when they say they would go to war. If 9/11 didn't get someone to join the service and fight, you won't do it for a war 2 or 3 years later.
