Holy crap that ped looks girly. I was thinking of getting a moped the last few days. How much was that one? What is it's top speed? I do not see alot of name brand mopeds here on the island. Seems like Vento mopeds are the ones to get here.

haha... yeah... my original choice woulda been a ruckus, but i ended up with the metro since that all the auction was offering (auction for charity). out the door it was about $1400.

the top speed is about 40 mph... going downhill with a tailwind. hehe

kinda surprised the vento is so popular over there. don't see those all that much here on the mainland. from the perspective of scooters, hondas are pretty popular.

it seems like yesterday when we all went to honolulu for B's b-day and the honda aero 50 was all the rage.

speaking of scooters... that's pretty much all they ride in japan. interestingly, for all the time i was in the big cities (and small ones) i didn't once see anyone riding one of those racing motorcycles (like honda CBRs). it makes me wonder if they even sell them out there?

if you get a small one, try and get a ruckus. i think a lot of people fix those things up. you may be able to juice it up so it'll go like 42 mph instead of 40. just kidding... sorta.

I like the cutdown look, but it has no storage, plus I think people will rip it off. Have to get something low key, and less $$

what's your price range and what are you requirements for size, storage, and/or speed?

my guess is that if you wanna save money, go with one of those chinese ones with the 2-stroke engines. not good for the environment, but with those tradewinds out that way, i'm sure it'll blow away all the pollution.

Cost low to mediuam.
Size small
Some storage. Able to hold 1/2 grocery bag.
Speed. It would be nice to hit 45mph.

not sure what you mean by low to medium cost. where does $1500 to $2000 sit with you? that's what you can probably expect to spend for a new 50cc scooter.

an 80 or 150cc scooter will definitely make the speed, but you'll pay for it.

most scooters (except the ruckus, i suppose) has the storage you mention. for instance, my metro has a grocery bag hook in the front panel as well as 22 liters worth of storage under the seat.

Thinking of getting a Vino, not sure why? I guess because I want to ride a motorcycle again, without riding a real motorcycle.

3k seems steep though.
